TRAVEL AWARD

SABR Canada Conference Resident Travel Award

The executive committee is pleased to offer a limited number of travel awards to support radiation oncology residents in attending the SABR Canada Conference in Kelowna, BC. The awards are intended to defray expenses related to travel to attend this conference.

Amount of the Awards

  • The amount of the award will be based on the location of the resident’s radiation oncology training program as follows:
    • BC and Alberta: $1000
    • Ontario and Manitoba: $1250
    • Quebec and Nova Scotia: $1500

Application Procedure

  • Applicants are to submit maximum 200-word personal statement about why attending the SABR Canada Conference is important to advancing their career in radiation oncology as well as attaching any PDF files of their SABR-related research and academic accomplishments during their residency by completing the form below.
  • Application deadline is March 20th, 2022 at 11:59pm PT.
  • Successful award recipients will be notified by email in early April.
  • Recipients must reply by email to claim the award.

Eligibility and Terms

  • Applicants must be a current resident (PGY1-PGY5) in a Canadian radiation oncology training program. Fellows are excluded.
  • Registration and attendance at the SABR Canada Conference is mandatory to receive the award.
  • Recipients will receive the award in-person at the SABR Canada Conference.
  • Recipients who fail to register and/or fail to attend the conference for any reason will forfeit their award.
  • In the event of conference transition to a virtual-only format, the monetary amount will be reduced to cover registration fees only.
  • In the event of conference cancellation, the travel awards will be cancelled.
  • The executive committee has full discretion on the number of travel awards to be granted.
